Woman arrested after allegedly sending man 159K messages after first date

The Date and the Aftermath

The case involves Jacqueline Ades and a man she met on Luxy, a dating app for millionaires. They went on exactly one date, which the man reportedly enjoyed, but he told her afterward that he wasn’t interested in a relationship.

  • The Message Count: Over the next 10 months, she sent him roughly 159,000 text messages. At her peak, she was sending approximately 500 texts per day.

  • The Escalation: When the man stopped responding, the messages turned dark and threatening. One of the most famous (and gruesome) texts read:

“I’d make sushi outta ur kidneys n chopsticks outta ur hand bones.”

  • The Break-In: In April 2018, while the victim was out of the country, he checked his home security footage and saw Ades in his house. When police arrived, they found her taking a bath in his tub.

The Trial and 2026 Status

During her time in custody, Ades gave a legendary, rambling jailhouse interview where she claimed she was “the person who discovered love” and that her victim was her “soulmate.”

  • The Verdict: In 2019, Ades was found guilty except insane on charges of stalking and criminal trespassing.

  • The Sentence: She was sentenced to time served (she had already spent over a year in jail) and 10 years of probation.

  • Mental Health: A key part of her sentence was a mandatory mental health treatment plan. In 2026, her case is often used in law and psychology classes as a textbook example of “erotomania”—a delusional belief that another person is in love with you despite clear evidence to the contrary
