‘I’ve had better days’: Robbie Williams’ dad Pete is rushed to hospital in an ambulance after suffering a painful fall

Robbie Williams’ father, Pete Conway, has been rushed to hospital after suffering a painful fall that left him with a broken bone in his spine.

The 72-year-old entertainer, who has been living with Parkinson’s disease, shared the distressing news himself on Twitter, writing: “Yesterday I had a fall and broke a bone in my spine… (yes, it hurts)… and I spent all day today in hospital. I’ve had better days.”

He even posted photos from the back of the ambulance, showing paramedics attending to him, followed by another picture from his hospital bed with a face covering on. Fans flooded the comments with messages of love and support, praising his resilience and humour despite the pain.

Pete, who was also a professional singer like his son, admitted Parkinson’s has been “a nuisance,” acknowledging the daily challenges he faces.

Back in 2020, Robbie revealed that his dad had been diagnosed with the condition during lockdown, when the two were forced apart. He told The Mirror: “We’ve got a lot of family issues right now. My dad has got Parkinson’s, my mother-in-law who I love dearly has got a very big illness. We can’t get to them. My dad is thousands of miles away.”

At the time, Robbie said he was deeply worried about both his parents, especially his mother, who was approaching 80 and isolating alone. “I can see the things whirling in her mind and her eyes going,” he added emotionally.

Pete, who shares Robbie and daughter Sally with his ex-wife Janet, has often joined his famous son on stage over the years, performing duets to adoring crowds — including a memorable rendition of Sweet Caroline in Las Vegas in 2019, just a year before his diagnosis.

As Robbie continues his European tour, friends say the star is “constantly checking in” with family back home in Stoke-on-Trent. Despite the physical distance, the singer remains closely connected, reportedly phoning his parents daily.

The Williams family’s strength has long inspired fans. With four young children — Theodora, Charlton, Coco, and Beau — and wife Ayda Field by his side, Robbie now finds himself balancing global stardom with his role as a devoted son.
