Bobby Brazier is preparing to leave his flourishing showbiz career behind in pursuit of a spiritual life in India. The EastEnders star, 22, has immersed himself in the Hare Krishna movement this summer and reportedly plans to relocate abroad for at least a year.
Those close to Bobby say he has been “telling everyone” about his faith, preaching Hare Krishna teachings, and radiating happiness about his decision. One insider admitted, “He’s such a nice young man, his heart is in the right place, but some people are surprised he’s walking away from his career at a time when he’s on such a high.”

Bobby’s spiritual journey comes after years of personal turmoil. His relationship with his father Jeff became strained, leading him to move out of the family home and settle in Soho, near the Hare Krishna temple. While his brother Freddy’s rebellion has been loud and chaotic, Bobby’s has been “quiet but defiant,” according to a family source.
At the temple, he joins daily rituals, chants mantras, helps prepare communal meals, and surrounds himself with what he calls “the most beautiful, happy, content, smart, intelligent people.” In a heartfelt Instagram post, Bobby confessed: “Chanting Hare Krishna mantra is so good my heart. I know where happiness is and I know where it is not. My relationship with God is absolutely everything I’ve been searching for.”

His devotion isn’t new. He was spotted wearing Hare Krishna beads in London last year and regularly attends temple gatherings. Videos show him dancing and chanting with fellow devotees, radiating joy.
Bobby’s path to peace was shaped by tragedy. He lost his mother, Jade Goody, to cervical cancer in 2009, when he was just five. Reflecting on his schooldays, he admitted feeling like a “black sheep” among privileged classmates until a chance modeling discovery launched his career.

In 2023, he shot to fame on Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the final with Dianne Buswell. Sources said his faith was “the secret” to his calm focus, even when he delivered an emotional dance in tribute to his late mother.

Now, as Bobby prepares to turn his back on fame and begin a new chapter in India, he insists he’s not perfect but is striving for devotion. “I fall into sin a lot,” he admitted candidly. “But I’m intelligent enough to recognise what makes me feel truly happy.”
