Harry Redknapp’s wife Sandra has once again been admitted to hospital, after only a short time since ITV4 presenter Matt Chapman revealed during a live broadcast that she was already receiving treatment.
During coverage from Great Yarmouth Racecourse, Chapman told viewers that Harry was following his horse King of Bears while supporting Sandra in hospital. He even joked that Sandra might have preferred watching Emmerdale, but Harry insisted on tuning into the race.
Now, after a brief period since that revelation, Sandra has returned to hospital. While the reason for her latest admission has not yet been confirmed, reports state that Harry is continuing to remain at her bedside, offering constant support.
The Redknapps’ love story, which began when they were just 17, has long been cherished by fans. Sandra’s health has been a recurring challenge: in 2018, she almost lost her life to sepsis, leaving Harry in tears when she later surprised him on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! camp.
In 2022, she spoke candidly about the terrifying after-effects of long COVID, explaining, “The shortness of breath was very difficult. My voice would vibrate and was very weak.” Sandra has also survived ovarian cancer and vocal cord damage, while Harry himself has battled a kidney cancer scare and undergone a heart stent procedure.
Despite everything, Harry has never considered slowing down. “Not a chance,” he previously admitted. “It drives Sandra mad, but I can’t say no to things.”
As Sandra returns to hospital once again, with Harry steadfastly by her side, their unshakable bond and resilience are being tested anew, reminding fans why their story is one of the most moving in British showbiz.
